The Peplink Balance 310 Fiber 5G is a desktop enterprise router for branches of 50 to 500 users that want fiber, Ethernet, and 5G in one box. An SFP WAN port accepts a gigabit fiber handoff, a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port takes cable or copper service, and a built-in 5G modem with dual Nano-SIM slots adds a cellular WAN certified on Verizon (including C-Band), AT&T, and T-Mobile. Put 5G on standby as automatic failover for the existing fiber or cable ISP, or run the branch on 5G as its standalone primary connection. An ISPTek cellular SIM card data plan puts that 5G link to work.

What It Does & Key Features:

  • Wired-to-5G Automatic Failover: Terminate fiber on the SFP WAN port or cable on the Ethernet WAN port, with 5G held in reserve. Health checks catch a failed circuit, and Intelligent Failover moves traffic to 5G until the wired link recovers. With PrimeCare and a SpeedFusion tunnel to another Peplink endpoint, Hot Failover makes the handoff without users noticing, according to Peplink. At a site still waiting on its wired circuit, 5G runs as the standalone primary link.
  • SFP Ports for Fiber WAN & Campus Links: The SFP WAN port takes a gigabit fiber internet handoff directly, and the SFP LAN port reaches buildings beyond copper Ethernet’s 100-meter limit. SFP transceivers are not included.
  • 5G Sub-6 with 4×4 MIMO & LTE CAT-20: In the U.S. SKU, a Sierra Wireless EM9191 modem runs 5G NSA on Sub-6 bands at multi-gigabit theoretical rates, with LTE CAT-20 fallback on 30 bands. Four SMA connectors and four included 5G/LTE antennas support 4×4 MIMO; Peplink rates routing at 1 Gbps.
  • Two Nano-SIM Slots, One Active at a Time: Both 4FF slots feed the single 5G modem, and the second SIM waits as a redundant standby.
  • Six Gigabit Ports, USB WAN & Desktop Chassis: One Gigabit WAN and five Gigabit LAN ports carry up to 128 VLANs, and the front USB port takes a USB modem or USB-to-Ethernet adapter as another WAN. An optional ACW-782 kit rack-mounts the indoor metal chassis.
  • Dual-Band WiFi 5 & AP Controller: A 2×2:2 dual-band WiFi 5 radio broadcasts up to 16 SSIDs with a RADIUS- or LDAP-backed captive portal, and the controller manages 30 Peplink access points and switches, or 50 with the AP-LC-50 license.
  • Load Balancing, Security & PrimeCare: Eight load-balancing algorithms and per-service outbound policies spread traffic across WANs, backed by a stateful firewall, web content filtering, IPsec, BGP, VRRP, and Drop-In mode. First-year PrimeCare adds InControl 2 and raises SpeedFusion peers from 2 to 30; renew it to keep them.
  • Which Balance 310 Fiber 5G SKU to Order: Choose BPL-310-FBR-5GH-T-PRM, the only Fiber 5G version Peplink footnotes with U.S. certifications for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon C-Band. The Global BPL-310-FBR-5GN-T-PRM adds 5G SA without that footnote, and BPL-310-FBR-5GD-T-PRM is listed only for AT&T and T-Mobile. Need 10G, 2.5G PoE+ LAN, or WiFi 7? Certified on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile & All Major U.S. Carrier Networks:

The U.S. 5GH version of the Peplink Balance 310 Fiber 5G appears on Peplink’s certification list for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, so ISPTek’s cellular SIM card data plans can be activated on any of the three.

  • Verizon Certified: Verizon’s Open Development listing covers n77 C-Band, n2, n5, and n66 5G plus LTE B2, B4, B5, B13, B48, and B66, and Peplink confirmed this SKU’s C-Band certification in November 2022. Peplink’s May 2026 advisory says 5GH modems on firmware 03.09.06.00 or older can fail 5G negotiation on C-Band; update through InControl 2 or the local web UI, over a wired WAN rather than cellular.
  • AT&T Certified: The 5GH carries AT&T certification; its radio covers C-Band n77 and 850 MHz n5 for 5G, and LTE B2, B4, B5, B12, B14, B17, B29, B30, and B66.
  • T-Mobile Certified: Also certified for T-Mobile. Band n41 at 2.5 GHz carries mid-band 5G capacity, while n71 and LTE B71 at 600 MHz stretch coverage into rural areas and buildings.
  • LTE CAT-20 Fallback on 30 Bands: Where 5G is out of reach, LTE carries the link on low-band B12, B13, B14, and B71; mid-band B2, B4, and B66; B48 CBRS; and more, so the backup path doesn’t rely on 5G alone.

Enhanced with ISPTek’s Cellular SIM Card Data Plans:

  • Public Static IP Addresses: Inbound VPNs and remote admin tools can’t find a SIM hidden behind carrier-grade NAT. With a public static IP, the router answers at one fixed address on its 5G WAN, so IPsec tunnels and port forwards stay reachable through a fiber cut.
  • Data Pooling Across Devices: Standby SIMs at fiber-fed branches sit nearly idle for months, then burn data during a cut. Placed in one ISPTek plan category, they share a single allowance, and the site that’s down borrows headroom from sites still on fiber.
  • Over 12 Custom Plans: Pick a modest standby allowance where fiber carries daily traffic, or a larger plan where 5G runs a new branch until its circuit is turned up.
  • No Activation or Cancellation Fees: Turn SIMs on as branches come online and off when a temporary office closes, with month-to-month billing and no charge at either step.
  • Zero Touch Advanced Security: ISPTek applies network-side security to each SIM from first attach, so the cutover from fiber to 5G doesn’t open a gap in branch protection.

Who Benefits?

  • Businesses on Fiber Internet: Peplink’s FAQ steers sites with gigabit fiber over SFP to this model. Fiber carries daily traffic on the Peplink Balance 310 Fiber 5G, and certified 5G waits behind it for a cut.
  • Campuses, Schools & Multi-Building Sites: The SFP LAN port runs fiber to a warehouse, classroom wing, or second office past copper’s reach, putting the whole property behind one 5G backup path.
  • MSPs Managing Client Branches: Standardize on one router model across client branches. PrimeCare’s InControl 2 manages every unit from one console, and ISPTek puts every client SIM on one bill.
  • Multi-Location Retail & Restaurants: When a store’s wired line drops, registers, card readers, and online orders shift to 5G, and SIMs in one ISPTek plan category pool backup data across locations.
  • Hotels & Hospitality: Guests join their own SSID behind a captive portal while staff use a separate one, and the built-in controller manages the property’s Peplink access points. During a fiber outage, the PMS and payment terminals get a 5G route.
  • Financial Services & Healthcare: Banks and clinics rely on payment authorization, EMR lookups, and site-to-site IPsec tunnels. Two units in VRRP High Availability remove the router as a single point of failure, and firewall rules stay in force on the 5G path.
  • New Branches & Temporary Offices: Open on 5G as the primary connection while fiber is on order, then land the circuit on a WAN port and let 5G drop to standby, with no router swap.

The Peplink Balance 310 Fiber 5G is for branches that want fiber’s speed without making fiber a single point of failure. Its 5G, certified on all three major U.S. networks, waits behind the fiber or cable ISP as automatic failover or carries the branch alone as its primary connection. ISPTek’s cellular SIM card data plans round it out with optional static IPs, data pooling inside each plan category, and month-to-month plans sized to each branch’s role.
