We understand that most chasers do not pursue their passion year-round. To accommodate this, we offer the option to pause your service, knowing you'll likely resume in a few months. We recognize the inconvenience of sending hardware back and forth, so we allow you to place your plan on a hardware pause. During this period, you'll only be billed a fraction of the usual amount to maintain your account. Our goal is to make our service economical, especially during the months when you might not be chasing or prefer not to incur the full cost.
Yes! If you already have a Starlink system (any model), it can be used with our setup. To connect, simply run an ethernet cable from your Starlink router to our device. If you’re using your own Starlink, we suggest not paying extra for priority data beyond what your plan includes, as our system seamlessly utilizes Starlink data whenever needed. If you don’t have a Starlink system or prefer not to purchase one, you also have the option to add it to any of our systems.
Our goal is to keep you connected and ensure your stream continues smoothly, regardless of the conditions. We achieve this by combining multiple connections into a single, seamless stream in our data centers. You simply connect your streaming device to our bonding hardware, and it automatically manages the connections, eliminating the need for manual switching. This means you don't have to worry about which connection is performing best at any given moment. Our solution ensures uninterrupted streaming without cutouts or dropouts. That's why many have already recognized us as the provider of the best storm chasing internet.
Priority data is technically referred to as QCI (Quality of Service Class Identifier). Carriers use QCI to determine the order in which users access the network and whether they'll compete for bandwidth. Each carrier establishes its own QCI scale, so comparisons across different carriers aren't always straightforward. Most carrier plans offer QCI 9 or sometimes QCI 8 levels, which can leave you behind others during periods of heavy congestion. Our goal with our data plans is to prioritize your connection and keep it stable. Our high-priority plans can reach up to QCI 6 if needed, ensuring you stay ahead of the competition.
Cellular modems with failover capabilities work by monitoring the internet connection on one SIM card. If the connection is lost, they switch to the next SIM card, transferring your sessions to maintain the stream. However, this process can lead to downtime, both during the switch and as the initial connection deteriorates before the switch occurs. Your stream, which might require 1500kbps-2500kbps, could be interrupted if the modem's throughput is insufficient but still maintains a connection. Our bonding hardware and data center infrastructure address this by dynamically distributing your connection across multiple SIM cards. For instance, if your stream needs 2000kbps and SIM card 1 provides only 1000kbps while SIM card 2 also offers 1000kbps, our system will split the data across both to maintain the required throughput. This ensures continuous streaming, even if individual SIM cards don't have enough bandwidth.
Depending on your primary focus, we can adjust our systems to combine the data speeds from all your connections, providing increased throughput. This is particularly useful in areas with limited service from individual carriers, as aggregating their connections gives you the necessary bandwidth to maintain a higher bitrate for your stream.
For enhanced video quality, we offer bonding with video smoothing, prioritizing video quality and minimizing stream jitter. This involves duplicating the video stream data across multiple connections simultaneously to reduce packet loss and minimize dropped frames. While this approach can lead to occasional dropouts in areas with low coverage when using only two connections, it effectively combines bonding and video smoothing when three or more connections are used.
We add between 150ms and 300ms of latency on our data center side to ensure all data is received from different providers, preventing frame drops. Without this added latency, packets might arrive out of order and get dropped, leading to frame loss. If you need adjustments to the latency, we can certainly accommodate your request. Just reach out!
As a storm chaser, you're constantly on the move, striving to keep your live stream running smoothly for your viewers, without dropouts due to poor connectivity. Our chaser bonding solutions enhance your connection by increasing throughput and reducing jitter. However, pushing too much data through can still cause streaming issues. By sending just one stream from your chase vehicle and restreaming it from a different location, you conserve bandwidth and maintain a stable stream, even with minimal service. Our restream platform, hosted in our data centers, allows you to send a single stream, which can then be distributed to any platform, in any quantity you need.
