The Peplink Dome Pro LR is an outdoor router that puts two 5G modems and eight long-range optimized cellular antennas inside one IP67 metal dome, made for vessels, waterfront facilities, and remote sites with weak signal. Peplink reports connections at more than 25 miles (40 km) from the coastline, though range varies with the deployment environment. Use it as automatic cellular failover for a wired ISP, Starlink, or VSAT link on its Gigabit WAN port, or as a standalone dual-5G primary connection. It adds Wi-Fi 6, GPS, PoE in and out, and four Nano-SIM slots, with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile certification. Each modem takes its own ISPTek cellular SIM card data plan, so one dome runs two cellular links side by side.
What It Does & Key Features:
- Dual 5G Modems with Redundant Nano-SIM Slots: Each modem runs Sub-6 5G in SA and NSA modes, peaking at a theoretical 3.4 Gbps / 900 Mbps, with LTE CAT-20 fallback rated 1.6 Gbps / 200 Mbps. Each also gets a primary and a backup 4FF slot: four SIMs load, two are online at once, and the modems can sit on different carriers.
- Long-Range Integrated Antennas: Eight internal long-range optimized cellular antennas give each modem up to 4×4 MIMO reception, with Wi-Fi and GPS antennas also built in. Router and antennas share one housing, so cable loss is minimal and no external antenna is needed.
- Automatic Failover Across 5G, Starlink, VSAT & Wired WAN: Plug Starlink, a VSAT terminal, or a wired ISP into the Gigabit WAN port. If health checks find that link down, intelligent failover shifts traffic onto the 5G modems and returns it on recovery.
- SpeedFusion Hot Failover & Bonding, No Extra License: With a SpeedFusion peer, such as a Peplink router at the office, Hot Failover holds sessions through a link drop, Bandwidth Bonding combines 5G, Wi-Fi WAN, and satellite links, and WAN Smoothing duplicates packets across them. Two peers are built in, five with PrimeCare. Router throughput is 1 Gbps; SpeedFusion VPN runs 400 Mbps unencrypted, 200 Mbps with AES-256.
- Dual Ethernet with PoE In & Out: The 2.5 GbE LAN port accepts PoE input, so one cable powers the dome and carries its data, and the Gigabit WAN/LAN port can send 802.3at PoE+ to an IP camera or access point. PoE+ input suffices unless the PoE output is in use, which requires 802.3bt PoE++. Two ACW-112 waterproof Ethernet adapters are included; the PoE power source is not.
- Wi-Fi 6 Access Point & Wi-Fi as WAN: A 2×2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 radio runs 2.4 and 5 GHz at once with up to 16 SSIDs and a captive portal, and can also connect to marina or shore Wi-Fi as one more WAN. Peplink recommends the Dome Pro LR for 1 to 150 users.
- IP67 Metal Dome for Masts & VSAT Domes: The rugged metal housing is IP67-rated against dust and water and handles -40°F to 149°F (-40°C to 65°C). The 14 lb unit, 14.6 in wide and 18.8 in tall, bolts inside a VSAT dome or onto a standard dome mount with four supplied M8 bolts (dome and mount not included).
- GPS, Dead Reckoning & InControl 2: Built-in GPS with dead reckoning feeds location tracking in InControl 2, Peplink’s cloud platform. InControl needs an active care plan, and the first year of PrimeCare is included.
Certified on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile & All Major U.S. Carrier Networks:
The Peplink Dome Pro LR (DOM-PRO-LR-5GN-PRM) is listed in Peplink’s U.S. carrier certification table for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, and each of its two modems can carry an ISPTek SIM from a different carrier.
- Verizon Certified: Verizon’s Open Development database lists it as certified with n77 C-Band 5G support, and its modems also carry LTE Band 13, Verizon’s 700 MHz low-band layer, plus AWS Band 66.
- AT&T Certified: Carries AT&T certification; its modems cover n77 and n5 5G, 700 MHz LTE on Bands 12, 14, and 17 for reach, and Bands 2, 30, and 66 for mid-band capacity.
- T-Mobile Certified: Earned the top 3-of-3 score in T-Mobile’s IoT device certification. Its lowest bands, 600 MHz n71 and Band 71, reach farthest, and 2.5 GHz n41 adds mid-band throughput.
- Global 5G Bands & LTE CAT-20 Fallback: Worldwide, the modems cover 28 Sub-6 5G bands, including n78 and n79, and 31 LTE bands from B1 to B71, so either modem can fall back to LTE CAT-20 (1.6 Gbps theoretical) where 5G hasn’t reached.
Enhanced with ISPTek’s Cellular SIM Card Data Plans:
- Public Static IP Addresses: Shore-side IT reaches onboard cameras, monitoring systems, and VPN endpoints at one fixed address, with no carrier-grade NAT in the way.
- Data Pooling Across Devices: Pooled plans let SIMs in the same plan category draw from one shared allowance, so a vessel burning 5G data near the coast uses headroom left by sister vessels running on Starlink offshore.
- Over 12 Custom Plans: Size each SIM to its vessel’s routine: a larger allowance where guests stream along the coast, a smaller one where the dome waits behind Starlink.
- No Activation or Cancellation Fees: Start SIMs when a boat launches for the season and cancel when it’s hauled out, or add lines as coastal sites go live, with no fee either way.
- Zero Touch Advanced Security: ISPTek applies network-level protection to each SIM from day one, covering unattended domes on moored vessels and remote masts, and traffic that fails over to 5G.
Who Benefits?
- Commercial Vessel Operators: Ferries, workboats, crew transfer vessels, and fishing boats keep voyage reporting and crew communications online near the coast, with 5G taking over automatically when Starlink or VSAT drops.
- Yachts, Charters & Passenger Vessels: Two 5G links and Wi-Fi 6 with a captive portal keep guests streaming and crews in touch near shore, on separate SSIDs for guests, crew, and onboard systems.
- Marine Electronics Integrators: One dome takes the place of a separate router plus long antenna cable runs and installs on a single PoE cable; ISPTek handles data plan billing for every vessel they support.
- Ports, Marinas & Waterfront Businesses: Fuel docks, harbor offices, and waterfront restaurants keep card terminals, gate systems, and security cameras online, failing over to the dome’s two 5G links when the wired ISP goes down.
- MSPs Managing Remote & Coastal Sites: InControl 2 shows every dome’s status and location in one dashboard, and ISPTek bills all client SIMs through a single account.
- Aquaculture, Utilities & Remote Monitoring: Fish farms, coastal monitoring stations, and remote utility sites mast-mount the dome to reach distant towers and power it and an IP camera from one PoE++ feed.
- Coastal Construction & Infrastructure Projects: Bridge, seawall, and port expansion crews run the site office on the dome during the build, then keep it as automatic failover once a wired line is installed.
For vessels, waterfront sites, and remote masts at the fringe of coverage, the Peplink Dome Pro LR steps up from the single-modem Peplink HD1 Dome Pro with a second 5G modem and long-range optimized antennas in one sealed dome. Run it as a standalone primary link, or on standby as automatic failover behind a wired ISP, Starlink, or VSAT feed. ISPTek’s cellular SIM card data plans complete the setup with a right-sized plan per modem, public static IPs for remote access, and pooled data across vessels and sites on the same plan category.
